All about SCUBA DIVING

Scuba or Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus was invented by Jacques Yves Cousteau, a French naval officer. He and his co-developer, Emile Gagnan, paved the way to the modern SCUBA equipment called the aqualung in 1943. It was first used by navy divers to clear underwater mines and also to do salvage operations in sunken ships.

Today, scuba diving is one of the most popular recreational activities in the world. It allows you to freely explore the underwater world and have fun in the process. Scuba diving is mostly popular in tropical waters.

Today, there are quite a number of scuba diving agencies that certifies scuba divers, such as PADI, NAUI and SSI that teaches and trains people to go scuba diving. If you want to go scuba diving, you first need a certification in order to go scuba diving. Scuba diving resorts will never allow you to go diving without certification from any of the agencies mentioned. This is because scuba diving can be dangerous if you don’t know anything about it.

For instance, you need to know about underwater pressure and how to cope with it. The pressure itself can be dangerous if you don’t know how to equalize. It can lead to discomfort in the ear and sometimes may relatively cause injuries in your ear drum. You should also know about the air you breathe if it is under pressure. You should know about diving related injuries in order to know how to cope with it.

There are a lot of diving destinations available all over the world. If you want to dive these places, you have to undergo scuba diving instructions and get yourself certified as a scuba diver. You can get certified by diving instructors that can be found in your local dive center. An instructor will teach all about things related to scuba diving.

He or she will teach you how to deal with problematic situations that may occur underwater, such as low on air situation, out of air situation, unable to equalize, and also gear problems, such as a free flowing regulator.

Scuba diving has a lot of gears that you should be familiar with in order to have a safe and enjoyable dive. Gears will include mask, fins, snorkel, exposure suits, BCD, regulator, tank, fins, diving computers, diving time pieces, and other diving accessories.

These equipment are essential for diving and you should know how each of these works and how it can save your life if in case, although rare, you encounter problems underwater.
